The Space

Newly-renovated eight-bedroom historic home in the popular, laid-back Cannonborough neighborhood close to great restaurants & historical sights. This classic Charleston single is divided evenly into two units, each with its own open floor plan, kitchen & lounge space. There's a stairwell on the front porch connecting the two & another interior stairwell toward the back of the home. Fans of cinema might feel as though they've been transported into one of auteur director Wes Anderson's films, & with good reason. The owner of this home is responsible for set design in some of his works, applauded by fans & critics alike for their attention to detail & dreamlike quality. The home is full of interesting old books & pieces of art. Upon entering each unit, guests will appreciate the well-appointed kitchen with a gas-burner stove, retro-style refrigerator, dishwasher, & stone-top kitchen island with seating for four. Right next to the kitchen island is a dining room table that can comfortably seat six to eight guests. The room has two antique cast iron fireplaces (decommissioned) - one by the kitchen & one by the living room. The area has a cozy couch & a mix of funky, mid-century modern chairs + a poof. The television is a nifty retro-inspired HD Samsung model with a built-in stand. There are two bedrooms that would be perfect for the kids of the young at heart with bunk beds & an attached bathroom with a shower/soaking tub combo. Queen beds are in all the other bedrooms + bright white tile baths throughout. The home has two washer dryers & a long private driveway with off-street parking for at least two cars.

Guests are also responsible for following the City of Charleston's Ordinance rules under Section 54-227. Our city is growing quickly. With that growth comes construction. Unfortunately, there’s nothing we can do about the resulting noise or the current, cosmetic state of some neighboring buildings. During your stay, this shouldn’t be too bothersome, since the city’s noise ordinance dictates quiet hours between 10pm & 8am. 10+ Day Stays are subject to an additional cleaning fee at host's discretion Please use painters tape if you plan on using tape to decorate for an event. If the wall is damaged due to tape removal or decorations, you will have to pay $500 for repainting. THIS IS NOT A PARTY HOUSE!!!

With its friendly neighbors, cozy restaurants, and tree-lined streets, our neighborhood will immerse you in Charleston’s classic charm. This house is perfect for a family or group seeking a fun, culinary, and cultural vacation. Popular dining spots in the neighborhood include The Tippling House Wine Bar,The Ordinary, Xiao Bao Biscuit, Fuel, Bistronomy, Barsa, R Kitchen, Chubby Fish, Pink Cactus, Chasing Sage, Elliotborough Minibar and the Warehouse for drinks. Our guests and neighbors also rave about Brown's Court Bakery and Sugar Bakery located nearby. We recommend going to Babas for a cup of locally-roasted coffee and their delicious cookies and cakes. Hello! I have been living in Charleston for the last 8 years now and have yet to see a reason to try and leave! I'm a passionate host on Airbnb, and only happy when my guests are happy. I love to share my knowledge, appreciation and love for Charleston with all of my guests that come and stay with us. Making your stay as comfortable as possible is always top priority and look forward to hosting anyone and everyone ready to experience the southern charm of historic Charleston, SC. This charming, huge (we rented both units), historic home is ideally located within walking distance of King St and so many other attractions! It was perfect for our 4 families. There was plenty of room for all 14 of us to hang out together, and also enough square footage to get some private space when needed. Since we booked the entire home, off-street parking was ample. There were a few small glitches but none of them would keep us from returning. The communication between our party and StayDuvet was superior, but their communication with their cleaning crew was less so. Despite a confirmed late check out, we returned from breakfast on our last day to find the driveway blocked by a man insisting we leave since it was past 11 am. The matter was resolved within 15 minutes or so, but was unsettling. Another small annoyance was that a few things were broken when we arrived. Nothing critical, just a little disappointing. One item was fixed by a member of our party; one we did without. As one would expect with an historic home, the wood floors are creaky and a bit uneven in spots, but presented no hazards to our youngest and oldest family. All in all it was an amazing stay in a great area and I would book this charming home again in a heartbeat.
