Get the inside scoop on what it’s like to live in the heart of Downtown Charleston at our 2-story home, “The Sheppard” - with 8bd/8ba and two units in total this home would be ideal for larger groups/families of up to 16 people. Located just off of King Street, so parking and proximity are no issue here. FIRST FLOOR As you step inside the first-floor home, you’ll find yourself in the open-concept living/dining room - which features a quaint dining room table for two, a lounge area, and a sizeable HDTV to enhance your stay. The perfect place to hang out and watch a movie or share some laughs over a meal. Just past the living area, you will find the kitchen which has been fully stocked with all your basic cooking/kitchenware necessities. The kitchen also includes additional seating for three at the countertop, so between this space, the living/dining room, and the second floor, you’ll have plenty of room to spread out during meals. Also on the first level, you have 4 bedrooms and bathrooms located just down the hall from the common areas. Three of which have been adorned with comfy king-sized beds and are accompanied by their own private ensuite for those moments when you need a little escape (parents, this one’s for you). The fourth bedroom features a plush queen-size bed and all the beachy vibes you could need. Right outside in the hallway, there is an additional full bathroom to be shared between this room and the common areas on this floor as needed. SECOND FLOOR The second floor of this home is accessed through a private outdoor stairway off the front porch. The Sheppard can be divided into two units for those with smaller groups, so you will notice that in addition to the common areas downstairs, this floor has a kitchen, living, and dining area of its own. Similar to the downstairs, the living areas feature an open-concept layout - where you will find plenty of seating for the whole crowd including a dining table seated for three + seating for four at the countertop, a comfy lounge area, and another HD flatscreen TV. On top of all that, this floor also has its own kitchen which has been stocked with all the basic cooking/kitchenware necessities - double the kitchen double the fun, am I right? The other 4 bedrooms and bathrooms of the home are located just down the hall from the common areas on the second floor. Three of the rooms have luxurious king-sized beds and are accompanied by their own private ensuite (which have all been recently updated with modern furnishings/appliances). The fourth bedroom features a plush queen-size bed and all the good vibes you could need - from the fun green side tables to the bright color scheme that surrounds it. Back in the hallway, you will also find another full bathroom to be shared between this room and the common areas located in the hallway + a washer-dryer set just in case you need to do a load during your stay.

Guests are also responsible for following the City of Charleston's Ordinance rules under Section 54-227. Our city is growing quickly. With that growth comes construction. Unfortunately, there’s nothing we can do about the resulting noise or the current, cosmetic state of some neighboring buildings. During your stay, this shouldn’t be too bothersome, since the city’s noise ordinance dictates quiet hours between 10pm & 8am. 10+ Day Stays are subject to an additional cleaning fee at host's discretion Please use painters tape if you plan on using tape to decorate for an event. If the wall is damaged due to tape removal or decorations, you will have to pay $500 for repainting. THIS IS NOT A PARTY HOUSE!!!

With its friendly neighbors, cozy restaurants, and tree-lined streets, our neighborhood will immerse you in Charleston’s classic charm. This house is perfect for a family or group seeking a fun, culinary, and cultural vacation. Popular dining spots in the neighborhood include Leons, Little Jacks, Melfi's, Maison, Rodney Scotts, Berkeleys, The Ordinary, The Grocery, Xiao Bao Biscuit, Bistronomy, Chubby Fish, Pink Cactus, and the Graft (Wine) or Vintage (Cocktails) for drinks. We recommend going to The Daily for a cup of locally-roasted coffee and their delicious cookies and cakes. The house is only a short walk from the very popular King Street where you will find a multitude of great shops – including antique shops and fashion boutiques – as well as an endless list of buzzing restaurants and Charleston's best nightlight scene. Publix is conveniently located nearby on Lockwood Drive as well. The neighborhood is also within walking distance to CofC, MUSC, Roper, and the Citadel.

Pros: - we were able to check in early and check out late since the Airbnb was not occupied - Each bedroom had its own bathroom - walking distance to king street Cons: - the street the house is located on has the highway directly in front of you and behind. Very loud traffic noise - the upstairs and downstairs don’t connect from the inside - downstairs unit had roaches - bathrooms don’t have towel hooks - pillows were incredibly hard - host enters home without notice. This happened twice during our stay. 1st time to add curtains to one of the bedrooms and second time was to drop off roach traps. I know it wasn’t malicious but it was an invasion of privacy I have never experienced with other Airbnb rentals. A heads up that they were coming would have been nice to know.
Beautiful home! We had a great time but beware that the shades do not keep the light out, the streetlights directly in front of the house shine in the room all night, it’s like it’s daytime. Bring your own pillows because they are all hard as a rock. Full length mirrors are only in 4 of the rooms, the other 4 only have very small mirrors in the bathrooms. Lots of traffic on that road so if you’re used to city traffic it’s fine, but if not it may be noisy for you. Also, the backyard area is shared with the other homes, it isn’t private. Overall, we loved our stay and had a great time.
